For a senior couple who had spent their lives in  Altadena, rebuilding meant restoring the familiar space that held decades of memories. Their wish was to recreate the original design while incorporating the permitted 10% floor area increase.

With no photographs of the previous house available, our team reconstructed the design through conversation with the owners. Their recollections of rooms, proportions, and everyday routines guided the plans for this three-bedroom home, preserving the familiarity and personal connection that mattered most to them.

Modern materials and construction assemblies bring the recreated design into alignment with current code and performance requirements. The result is a home rooted in the owner’s history and thoughtfully prepared for their next champter.

The project is currently under construction, with completion scheduled for the end of 2026
